Precious little one's first oversea journey

Alright, it's official, aku dah 30 weeks pregnant..Alhamdulillah sumenye normal n according to the right path..ari ni aku nak share my journey dengan precious little one for hubby's convocation last week..

Sebenarnya memang dah tahu hubby punya konvo is in April and we have bought the ticket since December lg..so nak tak nak mmg kne g la kn..tiket bukan murah woo..since this is our first baby and we will be flying for 7 hours ++ to Sydney, of course la anxious giler..takot anything happen to the baby especially..as always, a mother will always be a mother kn?..

Dulu pernah dengar yang airlines memang tak bagi pregnant mother at certain weeks to fly..so gigih la mencarik..so when I gugel Malaysia Airlines punya rules n regulation, alhamdulillah it was stated clearly that pregnancy below 32 weeks (international) and 35 weeks (domestics) are allowed to fly..but to be on a safe side, my hubby called the office and ask himself bout it and it is still the same..cuma they need surat doktor untuk mengesahkan yang kita ni fit to fly..and the surat tue cume laku seminggu dari tarikh dikeluarkan..in other word, pegi la klinik 2 or 3 days before you nak fly..n balik la before a week..kalau tak kne g klinik kt oversea tuh tuk dapatkan surat doktor lagi.. so ok la kn..one kemusykilan telah selesai..

So after everything dah plan, on the 21 April 2013, our journey begins..Hubby, MIL, FIL and myself pon berangkat la ke Sydney..our journey started from KL Sentral sebab awaiting for my in-laws tuk sampai naik komuter from kampung..so untuk jimatkan masa n tak menyusahkan sesiapa, we decided to take KLIA express.. harga satu kepala RM 35 and perjalanan ambil masa 28 minit je..mmg laju n tak terasa..yang paling best, kt outbeat the traffic kt KL yang mcm haram tuh..

First time naik KLIA express..I'm impressed :-)

We sampai to KLIA at around 7 pm..just nice before the counter open..sebab I kan peknen so nak check in awal..kt kaunter, ground staff inform yang nnti kt gate berlepas, I kena tunjuk surat fit to fly doktor n also isi release form. So sampai kat gate, ground staff yang ade kt gate 2 pon bg la I borang yang perlu di isi..borang 2 bukan ape pon..just release form yang ckp u xkn saman the airlines if anything happens to your pregnancy and you will bare the cost if terberanak kt dalam flight..sain je la..pas2 dorang ckp, surat 2 kne bg kt flight atendance kt dalam kapal masa dah naik nnti..so simpan la dulu..

Naik je kapal, i hand in the borang la..so the supervisor say ok and asked me if I am flying alone..I pulak punye la naif, ckp I fly ngan hubby n in-laws..so he said ok..lepas 2 bru I terpk, if ckp I am flying alone, ade tak rase2 kebarangkalian die bg I upgrade to first class?..ish..rugi2..hehehe

in d flight itself, i am "lucky" enuf to get a not working chair..maksudnye??..I xboleh recline my chair for the next 7 hours..mati woo!..mintak tuka tempat kt stewardess but unfortunately the flight is full and they cannot accomodate my request to change my seat..so redho je la kn..but I tell you people, it is such a hell OK..even though flight I malam and we are suppose to sleep until arrival, I CAN'T sleep at all throughout the night..why??..my baby is consistently moving n kicking my ribs throughout the night..not sure either he is anxious or uncomfortable but I am praying hard that he's ok in there.

Owh, lupe nak bgtau pesanan penaja..dalam flight yang jauh, pregnant mothers mmg akan ada tendency tuk kena water retention especially kat kaki..sengal ok!..nothing you can do about it..memang akan jadi bacause of the pressure differences..so what you can do is to consistently move and hydrate yourself with plain water..lantak la stewardess 2 nak ckp ape but mintak je air sebanyak mane korang nak ok?..

alhamdulillah my flight journey arrived on time..so xde la delay or waht so ever..alhamdulillah..badan dah lenguh dah satu malam tak buleh tdoq..so we arrived and go through customs etc..n alhamdulillah settle walaupun kne scan ngan unit K9 dorang..hampeh..byk ikan bilis je pon..

after that we proceed to the car rental company counter. Hubby dah booked kereta tuk our stay kt sane..so settle all the documentation blablabla..ktorang pon pegi la ke Malaysia Hall. We will be staying there la for the next 3 days..

Petang sikit around 2 pm, after dah rehat n luruskan badan aku yang dah hampir bengkok ni, we went to hubby's university..niat di hati nak lunch kt sane, sementara tunggu hubby ambil jubah dia n also meet up some of his friens and supervisor..they invited us for tea. so sampai kat sana, we waited for hubby to settle his jubah purchasing and we ate at the cafetaria..kt cni ade few diners yang jual makanan halal..so ok la kn..hehehe

So next stop is to go to hubby's lab..his friends and supervisor has prepared us simple tea party. So finally, I meet up with them and they are very friendly..yang bestnye, one of his friend bought a durian and we ate durian Australia..hahaha!..

So we left Macquarie university for dinner invitation at hubby's friend place, Cikgu Saiful..walaupun sebenarnya dah kenyang, his family dah masak nasik ngan lauk sume..so mlm ni dinner melayu la kt kt bumi asing ek baby..we left his house at around 10 pm and what else should I do after more than 24 hours not sleeping?..gudnite Sydney..

DAY 2

Ok, sy mengaku, sy bangun lambat pagi ni..ktorang terlepas subuh sebab subuh kt cni abis kul 6 pg n ktorang bangun pon dah kul 6 pg..nak buat cmno, qada' je la kn?..bukan sengaja..huhuhuhu..so we take our own sweet time..relax2 kt bilik sampai around 9 am..mandi2 n bersiap, then we off for shopping!..ehehehehe

Owh, before korang tertanya2, I nak clarify one thing..In this trip we did not went to the tourists attraction places sgt cm Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge, Sydney Zoo blablabla..WHY??..coz we've been there before..so dah rasa dah g sume tempat 2..maybe next time if pergi ngan our kids (ceh, berangan anak ramai la 2..hehe), insyaALLAH leh g semula all those places kn?..

Destinasi pertama is to Corelle pnya shop..FYI, kt cni mmg heaven nak beli Corelle n Pyrex ok..harga gila murah n rase nak borong satu kedai je..sib baik la beg bawak kecik je..hehehe

Next, we went to Direct Factory Outlet..best sebab kt cni sume brand branded korang akan jumpe..Channel, Nina West, Micheal Korrs..u name it..harga pon berbaloi jgak..seriously murah compared to market price..but sebab aku skrg tgh mengandung, otak ni dok mencarik kedai tuk bli brg baby..but unfortunately xdak..so in the end, we bought Davidoff parfume for hubby je..aku cm minat Bvlgari pnya minyak wangi but byk lg kt umah tuh yang xpkai..so xpyh la kot kn?..huhuhuhu

After that, since my mum n dad x come along to Sydney, ayah aku yang tgh gila main lawn bowl ade mintak blikan lawnbowl n acessories tuk dia..kt cni, mmg game lawnbowl ni kire cm social game..sume org pon main n harga brg mmg definitely murah compared to Malaysia.. SO ayah ade bg list kedai, brg n yang pentingnye duit tuk beli..so after survey tempat2 yang di listkan, ktorang decide tuk g kt the biggest shop yang ada..tempat dia nama Guildford..tak jauh dari tempat muslim yang hubby nak bawak ktorang tuk lunch hari ni..so before g Auburn, kt g dulu Guildford.. Sib baik la kedai 2 tepi jalan je..senang nak carik n alhamdulillah tak sesat. Kt kedai ni, since aku pon tak tau pe yang ayah aku order, aku beli ikut 100% list yang dibagi..so kesimpulannye, aku shopping kt kedai 2 xsampai 15 minit pon..hehehehe..tak pe la kn?..janji sumenye dapat beli n ikut spec yang ayah aku bg..ok, done!

Makan time..this time hubby bawak aku g kdai Turki yang dia suka makan..hubby and my inlaws ordered nasik with daging and I ordered kish kebab..seriusly sangat banyak ok protion kedai ni bg..ktorang pelik la apesal byk sgt..bila tanya, owner kedai ckp die saja bg byk..rezeki..hehehe..last2nye, ktorang bungkus bawak balik..leh buat sarapan esok :-)

After that we drove to Rebel Auburn. tempat ni ala2 sports direct la..gudang jual brg2 sukan..kt cni dapat beli kasut golf ayah n kasut futsal haikal..mase nak balik, we drop by kt satu kedai brg baby kt area ni jgak la..n finally I found this cute thins that suits for my precious little one..sila scroll bawah :-)

DAY 3

Ok, today is a big day for hubby. We woke up early to avoid the traffic. after having our quick breakfast (leftovers makanan kat kedai Turki semalam), we are off to Macquarie University. We arrived there on time before the ceremony. So hubby register and after that, my inlaws n I went to the hall..hubby masuk ikut pintu lain..the ceremony was different than the convocation we had in Malaysia. Dorang lebih rilex la senang cite. Casual giler..so after the ceremony, we meet up with hubby's friends yang came for the ceremony. 

Dalam kul 12 ktorang mula gerak ke Paddy's market. biase la klu g oversea msti ade org mintak blikan souvenier kn..so beli kt Paddy's market la..yang bestnye perjalanan kali ni, aku dapat naik Harbour Bridge..yeah!..dalam beli2 souvenier tuk member2, dapat jgak la hubby and i sambar a few things for our precious little one..kenang-kenangan ke oversea la katekan..hehehe

So lepas dah memborong, akhirnya time for us to pack things up and go back..our flight is at 9.40pm tonight..so we went back to Malaysia Hall, packed our things n check out at around 6 pm. Facing traffics for almost 1 hours 30 minutes (usually it took only 15 minutes to reach the airport ok!)..sakit bontot aku..sabo je la..so we return the car to the company and check ourself in to Malaysia Airlines counter..mlm 2 pulak counter nak lembab giler..it took us almost 45 minute tuk check in..sigh!..after check in, we meet up with hubby's friend yang datang tuk anta ktorang kt airport. and around 8.30 pm, we have to go in for boarding. ye la takot nnti ade masalah etc kt imigresen so better early la kn?..alhamdulillah imigresen xde problem and we are ready to go back home..

kt cni, again aku tnya ground staff pasal pregnancy punya declaration..but this time, ground staff cakap xpayah isi borang..only if i am 32 weeks and above je kne sain..pulak dah..aku mls pk byk2..sukati korang la..bukan masalah aku..yang penting dah bgtau..alhamdulillah balik ni aku dapat kerusi yang boleh recline n best sket, dapat dok kt tingkap..tp nak balik ni pon ade insiden jgak..mmg our journey kali ni penuh dgn drama la..hahaha!..aku ngan hubby request kt steward ni tuk extra bantal ( if korang penah naik flight malam, msti korang tau yang kt akan dapat set bantal n selimut tuk guna throughout the flight). so ini yang berlaku

Hubby: Excuse me, wife sy tgh pregnant ni. boleh tak minta satu extra bantal tuk support pinggang dia?

Steward: Owh, ok2..kejap ye I cuba dapatkan.

After 5 minute, steward itu datang dengan sepiring buah, kacang kuda, kek, coklat n biscuit n bg terus kt tangan I (ps: tangan die lembut..okbye!)..I ngan hubby dah tercengang..

I: eh, tq..tp boleh ke makan before take off?

Steward: Boleh. u makan je

I : So bantal sy mintak boleh dapat tak?

Steward : (Pandang muke I ngan peliknye), eh bukan husband u cakap td u pregnant n lapa nak makan?

Hubby n I : (nak tergolek guling2 gelak tp cover).

I: td kami mintak bantal tuk support pinggang bukan makan..hehehe

Steward : eh ye ke? I silap dengar la ni..xpe, u simpan je ni.. I ambilkan bantal untuk u.. (steward 2 pon blah tuk ambilkan bantal

Hubby: eh, abg salah ckp ke td?..abg ckp bantal kn?..bukan makan kn?..hahahaha!

Serius aku rase kelakar but ni la namenye rezeki anak kn?..kebetulan mmg lapa..so ktorang kongsi2 la makan ngan my inlaws. Journey home is way better that the previous one. I am able to sleep n rest. Flight is smooth and we touch down earlier than our time of arrival. We took cab from KLIA to hubby's office to take our car. Went to breakfast with MIL and FIL before sending them off to KL Sentral to go back to Perak. 

Ok, that is our first journey with precious little one..more to comes?..insyaALLAH :-)

just little advise for all mommies to be yang nak travel, prepare yourself mentally n physically because it is relatively more challenging travelling long hour flight while you are carrying your precious little one.. be safe and keep hydrated!
